This error also called MsMpEng.exe is a core process of Windows Defender and occur due to Windows Real Time Protection. It scans the downloaded file for spyware and quarantine or remove them if they are suspicious. It also scans the system for worms, viruses and other harmful software.

Step 1: In the Search bar, type Task Scheduler/Schedule Tasks and select to open.
Step 2: Now expand Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Windows as shown in the figure.
Step 3: Scroll down and select Windows Defender. Here your will see four different option on the right.
Step 4: Right click on Windows Defender Scheduled Scan and click Properties.
