How to Fix Windows 10 igdkmd64.sys Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Error

Windows 10 igdkmd64.sys

IGDKMd64 stands for Intel Graphics Driver Kernel Mode 64-bit. It’s basically a software component of Intel Graphic Card drivers for Windows. If there is any kind of problem with this file it causes blue screen of death (BSOD) error and unfortunately you can’t resolve this error just by deleting the igdkmd64.sys file.

igdkmd64.sys

It’s a .sys file that means it’s one of the critical system files of Microsoft system, deleting which can cause critical errors.

In order to resolve issues happening due to igdkmd64.sys file, you need to follow proper troubleshooting tips.

 

Methods to Fix igdkmd64.sys Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Error

 

Method 1: Roll back Intel Graphic Card Drivers

1. Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.

2. Expand Display adapters, right click on Intel(R) HD Graphics and select Properties.

3. Go to Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver. Click Yes when prompted and then press OK to save settings.

4. Restart your computer to save changes.

5. If the Roll Back Driver option is grayed out or your issue is not resolved then continue to the steps below.

6. Right click on the Intel(R) HD Graphics and select Uninstall.

7. If prompted then click OK and restart your PC to save changes.

8. After restart your computer will automatically load the default drivers of Intel Graphic Card.

 

Method 2: Run System File Checker (sfc)

1. Press Windows + X and click Command Prompt (Admin).

2. Type the command give below and hit Enter.

sfc /scannow

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

3. Wait till the process completes and then restart your computer.

 

Method 3: Change Intel graphics settings

1. Right click on the Desktop and select Graphic Properties.

2. In Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, click on 3D.

3. Ensure to set 3D settings as below:

Application Optimal Mode to Enable.

Multi-Sample Anti-Aliasing to Use Application Settings.

Conservative Morphological Anti-Aliasing to Turn Off.

4. Go back to main menu and click on Video.

5. Ensure to set Video settings as below:

Standard Color Correction to Application Settings.

Input Range to Application Settings.

6. Restart your computer to save changes.

 

Method 4: Update Windows

1. Press Windows + I to open Windows Settings and select Update & Security.

2. Click on Check for updates under Update status.

3. If updates are found then install them and finally restart your computer to save changes.

Updating Windows can fix igdkmd64.sys Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Error because all the drivers also get updated.

 

Note: This method is for those users who have a separate graphic card such as NVIDIA, AMD etc.

Method 5: Disable Intel’s integrated GPU

1. Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.

2. Expand Display adapters, right click on Intel(R) HD Graphics and select Disable.

3. Restart your computer to save changes.
